The Grand Finale of the “2024 HKU International Techno-Entrepreneurship Challenge” will be held on January 11, 2025 (Saturday) at the Grand Hall of Lee Shau Kee Lecture Centre, University of Hong Kong (HKU), and will also be live-streamed online. Nineteen exceptional projects have emerged from 259 teams, representing six regions including Hong Kong,Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Chengdu, gathering at the University of Hong Kong to compete for the ultimate glory. Mr David Wong, Director of the Intellectual Property Department, HKSAR Government, and Mr Arnold Lau, Associate Director-General of the Invest Hong Kong, will deliver opening speeches.
The Challenge is jointly organised by the HKU Institute for China Business (HKU ICB) and the HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Core (TEC). Co-organisers include the Intellectual Property Department of the HKSAR Government, InvestHK of the HKSAR Government,, China Unicom International Limited, Qiming Venture Partners, the Asia Innovation and Intellectual Property Association, the Hong Kong Science Park, Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, the Technology Transfer Office of the University of Hong Kong, and iDendron of the University of Hong Kong.
The judging panel consists of 15 experts in public administration and management, globally renowned scholars from prestigious universities, and representatives from cutting-edge technology enterprises. Among the 19 advanced teams, six teams focus on healthcare and biotechnology, five teams explore artificial intelligence and digital technology, three teams concentrate on smart manufacturing, and three teams lead in energy storage, green innovation, and sustainable development, while the remaining teams are engaged in the fields of chips and ultra-low altitude economy.
