The School of Chinese at The University of Hong Kong (HKU) will host its inaugural “Museum Culture Week @HKU” series of events from 10 to 13 March 2026 at the HKU Libraries, supported by the Teaching Development and Language Enhancement Grant (TDLEG) under the University Grants Committee.
“Museum Culture Week @HKU” forms part of the celebration series for HKU’s 115th Anniversary. Co-organised by the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the School of Future Media at HKU, with venue support from HKU Libraries, the programme integrates world-class museum curatorial expertise with innovative new media technologies to explore curatorial thinking in the era of artificial intelligence (AI).
The opening event on the first day (10 March) features a keynote lecture and panel discussion titled “Power of the museum.” It will bring together three highly influential figures from Hong Kong’s museum sector for their first-ever joint appearance, including:
- Dr Louis Ng Chi-wa, Director, Hong Kong Palace Museum
- Professor Joseph Ting Sun-pao, Former Chief Curator, Hong Kong Museum of History
- Mr Szeto Yuen-kit, Former Chief Curator, Hong Kong Museum of Art
