The University of Hong Kong (HKU) held an Award Presentation Ceremony on March 27 to honour prominent teachers and researchers with University teaching and research awards for excellence in their fields as well as to recognise their outstanding knowledge exchange activities. HKU President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Peter Mathieson officiated at the ceremony. HKU Pro-Chancellor Dr the Honourable Sir David Li Kwok Po was the Guest of Honour.
During the ceremony, seven categories of awards were presented including the Outstanding Teaching Award, Early Career Teaching Award, Teaching Innovation Award, Outstanding Researcher Award, Outstanding Young Researcher Award, Outstanding Research Student Supervisor Award and Knowledge Exchange Excellence Award.
As an enduring reminder of the remarkable performances of HKU scholars in teaching, research and knowledge exchange, a new Plaque of Honour has been created and installed on the lower ground floor of the Centennial Campus. The Plaque is engraved with the names of recipients of these awards over the years.
The Plaque of Honour Unveiling Ceremony, attended by over 100 awardees over the years, was held right before the Award Presentation Ceremony.
